Overview:
The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large workforce. Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager, this position involves handling biweekly payrolls, conducting audits, and generating various reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Biweekly Payroll Processing: Enter payroll data, verify changes, and review timecards to ensure accuracy.
- Audits: Conduct pre and post payroll audits to maintain precision in payroll operations.
- Documentation: Prepare payroll funding documents and check requests, and communicate funding details to the Treasury Department.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports, including YTD wage and tax analysis, headcount, new hire, and labor reports.
- Year-End Tasks: Compile year-end payroll earnings and deduction totals.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and prepare detailed reports as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in payroll and timekeeping, with expertise in UKG and Workforce Management (Dimensions).
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of timekeeping rules, garnishments, payroll taxes, and multistate payroll processing.
- Skills: Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables), strong organizational and communication abilities, and detail-oriented.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Initiative: Demonstrated ability to take initiative with tasks and projects.
- Additional: Exposure to expatriate payrolls is beneficial but not required. CPP certification and APA membership are preferred.
Work Environment:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
