What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Health Nurse position at Frederick County Health Department?
Frederick County Health Department Behavioral Health Services division is seeking a part time nurse to work 19.5 hours a week in our Street Safe Program. Our Street Safe Program is a comprehensive harm reduction program that provides supplies and services to people who use drugs. In this position, the individual would be required to provide the following: blood draws, assessment of injection-related wounds, basic wound care to include washing & dressing of wounds, wound education & distribution of wound care supplies and education on safer injection practices, basic hygiene, etc. Wound care training would be provided. Flexible schedule during traditional business hours Monday-Friday.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurse.
Experience: None.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
