What You’ll Do:
Key Responsibilities
As an IT Director, you will:
- Oversee and advance all aspects of Frederick County's electronic network and IT infrastructure.
- Develop and manage the implementation of the County’s Strategic Technology Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, preparing recommendations and economic analysis for future enhancements.
- Coordinate system design, testing, and user training to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies.
- Ensure the security and stability of IT systems, overseeing system setup, operations, and data security protocols.
- Prepare, administer, and monitor the IT department budget, including allocating costs and managing resources effectively.
- Lead training and performance evaluation of IT team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in IT management in the public and/or private sector.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with a talent for building positive relationships across departments and with the public.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated expertise in technology planning, project management, and aligning technology solutions with organizational goals.
- Leadership Excellence: Demonstrated capability to lead, mentor, and assess technical staff effectively, cultivating a productive and supportive team environment.
- Security Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining robust IT security standards and overseeing secure system installations.
