Job Description
The State University of New York at Fredonia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Trumpet. This position requires demonstrated excellence in both classical and jazz / commercial trumpet performance and pedagogy, with the ability to inspire and mentor students across a range of musical genres and degree programs. Core responsibilities include teaching applied trumpet lessons and leading recital seminars. Additional teaching duties may include brass pedagogy, coaching brass chamber music, directing jazz combos, and teaching courses for non-trumpet majors. This role also involves directing and coaching trumpet ensembles, contributing to the School of Music's jazz / commercial music program, engaging in research and creative activities, and supporting recruitment and outreach initiatives.
