**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and attention to our canine companions, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with pet care, customer service, and the ability to lift heavy objects. MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER.
This is a very physically active role that is often exposed to the outdoor elements.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist with the daily care of our residents, including feeding, enrichment, and administering medication as needed.
- Provide pet grooming services, including nail trimming, bathing, and brushing.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, and supplies to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Monitor and address any behavioral issues, including providing basic obedience training.
- Handle and restrain animals as needed, while maintaining their safety and well-being.
- Assist with the intake and processing of new animals, including updating their records and providing necessary vaccinations.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and provide regular updates to managers.
- Provide exceptional customer service to volunteers and members of our community, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Participate in training and development programs to improve knowledge and skills.
**Skills:**
- Experience with pet sitting and dog training is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of veterinary technician procedures is preferred.
- Ability to work in a kennel environment.
- Proficiency in animal restraint and pet care.
- Strong physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Experience with dog handling and grooming is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Schedule**
We are currently looking to hire a part-time Kennel Technician to work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM every Friday and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM every Sunday, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM every Monday. Please do not apply for this position if you are not able to work these hours.
