SUMMARY
Computes, classifies, records and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following responsibilities.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable:
- Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices, checks and substantiating business transactions.
- Posts invoices received into module of IDentifi and Oracle.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or spreadsheets and databases.
- Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, etc.
- Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and reviews for accuracy.
Purchasing:
- Maintain inventories of office supplies.
- Obtain approved order forms for supply orders and process.
- Verify office supply shipment.
- Minimize purchasing costs.
Fixed Assets/Prepaid Assets:
- Post invoices received into the fixed assets/prepaid assets module of Oracle.
- Ensure assets are coded correctly.
- Ensures the proper amortization is taken for all fixed assets in accordance with bank policy.
General Ledger:
- Reconcile all bank accounts daily. Review system generated reports to the balances in the general ledger and make corrections as required.
- Provides support to the other administrative staff including Operations, Loan Originations and Loan
- Operations. Work with the branches to ensure wires and GL entries are completed accurately and timely.
- Month end- ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled timely.
- Assist the Senior Accountant in the preparation of month end reports to the CFO.
- Maintains knowledge of and compliance with regulations applicable to the position of accountant in a financial institution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1 years of related experience in a financial institution.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel proficient.
Working knowledge of Oracle a plus.
