Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dock Master to work at our beautifull Port Canaveral Marina. The Dock Master will be responsible for managing the loading and unloading of vessels, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and coordinating with various teams to facilitate smooth operations. This role requires strong people skills, general mechanical knowledge, a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Additionally proven small, single engine, boat handling skills and the stamina to work in an outdoor setting through various inclement weather situations are required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of our members and their gear.
- Move boats as needed for fueling or other job related purposes.
- Clean the vessels to match the company's high standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of docking equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate communications with the members from the day prior to the outing to the return to their cars at the conclusion of their boating experience.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to docking equipment and utilize our maintenance program to log the issue for our maintenance department as needed. Repair the vessels with light maintenance issues ie. fuses, electrical and pumps.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations accordingly to ensure safety.
- Implement emergency response plans in case of accidents or hazardous situations.
Skills
- Ability to confidentially and safely handle our boats in strong current and wind conditions.
- General mechanical knowledge to understand and troubleshoot equipment used in docking operations.
- Strong people skills to relate to members, colleagues, managers and owners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer systems for record keeping and scheduling tasks.
- Emotional and Physical ability to work in outdoor settings in inclement weather.
- Strength and stamina to lift up to 50lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
