Construction Estimator/Project Coordinator
A Barberton based construction company with 10 plus years in business is experiencing rapid growth and is in need of dedicated employees. We are seeking an experienced estimator/project manager who is willing to grow with an established and reputable company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work independently to put together multiple estimates and use time management to meet bid deadlines
- Ensure that estimates are accurate and competitive for the business and the clients
- Review the specifications and drawings and have an understanding of the requirements of the proposals
- Perform site visits with or without other team members to assemble estimates
- Solicit subcontractor quotes and vet the quotes for estimates
- Attend virtual and or in person pre-bid meetings
- Schedule, coordinate and lead internal estimate reviews in a timely manner with management team
- Be actively involved with internal pre-construction meetings for awarded projects
Secondary Responsibilities
- Communicate with the President/Owner about each construction project
- Oversee multiple projects at one time
- Oversee and coordinate job schedules with the customer, and subcontractors
- Responsible for obtaining subcontractor estimates, bids, and managing subcontractors’ progress
- Tracking job progress, preparing change orders, purchase orders, and time extension requests
- Attending pre-construction and progress meetings
- Manage project budgets
- Oversee and coordinate permit acquisitions through multiple counties, ensure compliance and reduce approval timeframes
- Streamline the estimate, bid, and proposal process
- Create process for detailed site documentation and assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 5 years experience in the construction industry (preferred)
- Strong customer service background with a great verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with bidding software (BuilderTrend) a plus
- Ability to work with a team and work with our supervisors and foremen
