Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic x-ray exams, using a portable x-ray machine, to assist in diagnosing patient conditions. Additionally, this role will involve operating the C-arm during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnoses and treatment. This position requires at least 1 year of procedural experience, with a focus on delivering compassionate care, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic X-Ray Procedures: Conduct high-quality diagnostic x-ray exams using a portable x-ray machine, following physician orders and established protocols. Ensure accurate positioning and optimal imaging quality.
- Interventional Radiology Support: Operate the C-arm during interventional radiology procedures, providing high-quality imaging and supporting the physician during minimally invasive procedures.
- Patient Care: Prepare and position patients for x-rays and interventional procedures, explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout.
- Equipment Operation: Operate the portable x-ray machine, C-arm, and other radiographic equipment. Perform routine quality checks and promptly report any issues.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure for patients, yourself, and staff. Use protective gear and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and results in the electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to support seamless patient care and efficient workflow within the department.
- Continuing Education: Keep current with advancements in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing training as required.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state licensure as required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of procedural experience, including interventional radiology or similar procedures, is required.
- Skills: Proficiency in diagnostic x-ray and interventional imaging procedures, patient care, and equipment operation. Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Basic Life Support Certification: Required.
Requirements:
- Data Entry: Regularly update patient records with imaging results.
- Interpersonal Skills: Build rapport with patients to ensure smooth and efficient encounters.
- Organizational Skills: Maintain accurate and detailed records for each procedure.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift during shifts. Exposure to radiation and other clinical environment risks is expected, following all safety guidelines.
