Summary:
The Associate Director, Funding Correspondent Lending oversees the funding team to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements for whole loans purchased and pooled by Freedom Mortgage. The Correspondent Channel funds significant production volumes of mortgage loans monthly, necessitating strong leadership, organizational, and employee development. This position will establish and manage effective workflow processes to facilitate efficient work allocation, adhere to departmental procedures and training materials, and meet the production requirements of the channel. Additionally, the Associate Director will recruit team members, develop essential policies and procedures, implement internal controls, oversee capacity management, and continuously assess process efficiency to achieve channel objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that the collateral is adequate and that all financial transactions associated with funding are correct.
Responsible for reconciling all issues resulting from funding loans either through internal research or as requested by the Correspondent.
Accountable for Co-Issue funding process and collaboration with deal coordinators and co-issue management team.
Responsible for strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency.
Interact regularly with operations to ensure capacity and time zone differences for on-shore and off-shore funding team to meet anticipated loan volume.
Interact with Servicing to ensure accuracy of loan on boarding. Serve as primary contact for servicing questions related to correspondent loans.
Responsible to analyze tax penalty notifications from servicing and execute the recoup requests through contact with correspondent Regional Managers, Sales Associates and correspondent lenders. Coordinate generation of billing invoices and confirm accuracy.
Interact with Compliance and Legal regarding borrower complaints on correspondent loans.
Monitors trends, recommends solutions, and provides consistent and timely feedback to Functional Leaders on strengths and areas of opportunity.
Anticipates issues and/or problems that could impact the business for both Freedom and the client and provides valid solutions using a pro-active approach.
