Carillon is recruiting for a hospitality focused Staffing Coordinator to join our team!

Summary Of Responsibilities

The Staffing Scheduler Coordinator is responsible in the hiring/scheduling, disciplinary counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in hiring and initiating paperwork for new nursing staff, scheduling, provides disciplinary counseling to nurses when needed, departmental orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff activities.
  • Supervises the Staffing Assistant/Restorative Aide and assigns duties as necessary.
  • Supervises Medical Records Clerk and assigns duties as necessary.
  • Maintains confidentiality of medical data.
  • Assists in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction for our residents and guests.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
  • Coordinates TB Mantoux testing for the nursing staff at Carillon House. Monitors administration for new employees of Carillon.
  • Works on the floor due to staffing vacancies once a month.
  • Coordinates in-services as required by .
  • Monitors staffing budget with Director of Nurses.
  • Supervises and schedules Carillon House front desk receptionists.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

  • Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Work as team and assist all other department members when needed.
  • Be able to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals and other departments within the system.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must communicate with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
  • Have the ability to maintain a professional relationship with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff by demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and demeanor.

Education And Experience

  • Have a High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Preferred at least one-year staffing experience in a health care setting.
  • Requires good judgment to plan, perform and set-up sequences within standard procedures. Requires analysis of facts and information to take action following established guidelines.

PERSONAL AND PUBLIC CONTACT

The Staffing Coordinator will have personal contact with all levels of Carillon staff, residents, other healthcare professionals, and government agencies.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS

The Staffing Coordinator position normally works in a well-lit, comfortable office surrounding. Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions. Must be able to sit for up to ninety percent (90%) of the workday. Must have manual dexterity for typing and filing. There will be occasional walking, frequent bending, frequent reaching, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) lbs. independently. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses, unpleasant odors, and combative behavior.

EQUIPMENT USED

The Staffing Coordinator will use the following equipment: computer and various computer programs, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone usage.
