Freedom Village Continuing Care Retirement Community seeks full time Full Charge Bookkeeper to complete all required and established organizational bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Job Description Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day execution and management of general accounting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow management.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Direct and coordinate accounting operations including; accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, collections, budgeting, payroll and banking and cash management.
- Prepare preliminary and final monthly financial statements including creation of all necessary general ledger entries.
- Analyze and present monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Executive Director and department managers
- Evaluate monthly A/R aging reports and make recommendations for collections
- Manage online bank transactions, as needed
- Provide financial training to staff, as needed
- Attend trainings, staff meetings or workshops as directed
- Some additional hours during the week may be required, especially initially for training
- Supervise accounting staff of two
- Interface with residents and families
- Support and work with Directors across the campus on their monthly financials, budget and payroll.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications
- Full understanding of basic accounting from A/P and A/R entries to financial statement creation
- At least three years of full charge bookkeeping experience
Knowledge, Abilities and Judgment
- Experienced with financial software programs, knowledge of CYMA a plus
- Highly skilled in Excel (this will be tested)
- Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to perform high quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as a pro-active team member.
- Enjoys working with the senior population.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- Solution-oriented and able to take initiative in problem solving
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
