About our District
Freeland Community School District is located in the heart of the Tri-Cities. It is primarily located in Saginaw County with portions in Bay and Midland County. We provide education programs from Early Childhood through 12th grade including access to Early College programming and Career and Technical Education. Our current enrollment totals approximately 2,020 students. The mission of the Freeland Community School District is preparing students for the demands and opportunities of the 21st century.
Role Description
The High School Principal will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the building, implementing educational programs, and providing leadership to staff and students. Freeland High School, which is home to about 615 students in grades 9-12, has a great deal of support, with a full-time assistant principal and a full-time athletic director, as well as two counselors and a student support specialist.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field
- Principal certification or eligibility for certification
- Candidates should have prior administrative experience at the secondary level
- Proven track record of instructional leadership, staff development, and student-centered decision-making
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are essential
- Ability to foster a positive school culture and engage effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community
- Knowledgeable about post-secondary planning and career pathways, ensuring that students are well-prepared for college, vocational training, and the workforce
- Experience with curriculum development and best teaching practices, continuous improvement planning, and data-driven decision-making is preferred
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
