About the Role:
- This is an opportunity to play an essential role in helping reduce the cost of errors and achieve client satisfaction.
- The successful candidate will direct the work of press crew and provide coaching and training to staff.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Pressroom Supervisor by providing daily technical and safety instruction, training and guidance to assigned press crew members.
- Be responsible/accountable for the overall safety of the entire press crew.
- Perform and/or oversee all tasks associated with operating the press equipment in support of the production goals related to safety, setup, line speed, waste, web breaks and downtime.
- Complete tasks identified on company's Standard Processes and ensure that press crew is capable of completing their assigned tasks.
- Inspect printed quality of jobs including folds, cleanliness, color and registration.
- Ensure press is re-webbed correctly, safely and efficiently.
- Mount proper plates correctly and accurately.
- Serve as the leader for assigned equipment and crew and direct the work of crew members.
- Provide instruction, training and guidance to junior crewmembers and performance feedback for this position.
- Follow all safety regulations and encourage safe work habits from press crew.
Requirements:
- Experience on Komori 38" or Manroland Lithoman (strongly preferred).
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking and general knowledge of English to understand written directions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve print related problems such as pressure, settings, tension, irregular ink distributions and web-breaks.
- Ability to work as a cooperative part of a crew and provide both technical and safety instructions/training to junior crew members.
- Enhanced listening skills and ability to follow directions from the Supervisor.
