Key Responsibilities
The Press Operator will be responsible for directing the work of the press crew, providing coaching and training to staff, and serving as a day-to-day leader and mentor for 2nd Pressmen and Press Joggers. They will also support the Pressroom Supervisor by providing daily technical and safety instruction, training and guidance to assigned press crew members.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the overall safety of the entire press crew, ensuring that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is properly worn when necessary, following and enforcing Safety Rules, and performing and/or overseeing all tasks associated with operating the press equipment in support of the production goals related to safety, setup, line speed, waste, web breaks and downtime.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
