What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Communications Manager position at FreeSpirit Fabrics?
The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s marketing, social media, branding, and communication strategies and activities.
- Create and implement marketing plans, including short and long-term strategies.
- Create and maintain a consistent brand/image voice across product lines, events, and promotional materials.
- Spot new marketing opportunities for the company leading to ideation, development, and implementation of new marketing initiatives.
- Develop and execute the planning of company events both trade and consumer, promotional materials, and advertising communications projects.
- Oversee the development and tactics, both digital and social media, for a new program designed to engage with Millennials and Gen X consumers.
- Responsible for the process of producing sales folders and promotional materials for the company’s quarterly releases, including overseeing the gathering and communication of sample yardage, working with international distributors to communicate the company’s plans, creating the quarterly newsletter, and coordinating distribution with third-party vendors.
- Work across departments leading initiatives and the flow of communication to all relevant parties as related to each program and or issue.
- Create relevant reports on marketing programs, including regular status reports, and analysis.
- Manage the design, production, and distribution of promotional materials to aid the company’s sales and marketing programs.
- Work with a Digital Specialist to guide social media efforts for marketing FreeSpirit products, and programs and capitalize on industry trends.
- Apply various digital analytics and media tracking tools to generate reports on the progress of social media.
- Create copy for website content, promotional materials, blog entries, newsletters, and other special projects.
- Work to develop relationships with industry peers and influencers to create brand awareness.
KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES, AND KEY BEHAVIOUR REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priority projects simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and manage project timelines and task lists.
- Knowledge of SEO copy/content based on best practices including content structure and meta copy.
- Knowledge of collaboration platforms such as Asana.
- Desktop publishing knowledge includes Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of social media/communication platforms including Creator Studio, Later, Animoto, Mail Chimp/Constant Contact, and video editing.
- Knowledge of social media advances and changes.
- Demonstrates a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action.
- Basic graphic design knowledge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism/Advertising/Marketing or related
- 3-5 years related experience
Salary : $76,000 - $80,000
