FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for a dynamic and passionate professional to join our accounting team! If you are detailed, able to follow procedures, and can perform routine accounting and clerical functions, this may be the right job for you!
Salary Range: $18/Hour
Job Location: Clinton Township
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Full-Time)

Purpose Of This Position:
The purpose of an Accounting Clerk is to support our members and team members ensuring compliance and accuracy performing a variety of duties pertaining to accounting functions.
What You'll Do In This Role:
Post exceptions for Visa and Share Drafts.
Post general ledger entries.
Process stop payments.
Balance corporate checks, money orders, Visa, share drafts, and outgoing wires.
Balance subsidiary accounts to the general ledger on a daily basis.
Send and receive wire transfers and ACH's.
Process returned deposited items
Process share draft returns.
Process accounts payable.
Review cash over and short general ledgers.
Complete month-end duties
Balance ATM/ITMs
Have skills and abilities to back up other accounting positions in the department.
Exhibits knowledge and produces work proving basic knowledge of accounting concepts.
What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one-three years of similar or related experience in the financial industry.
Must have knowledge of various federal regulations and the responsibilities relating to each act of the following:
Right to Financial Privacy Act
Regulation E (EFTA)
Regulation CC (Funds Availability)
Truth in Savings Act
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
ACH Rules
