The Office of Student Services is excited to build upon their team of amazing special educators as we seek a dynamic forward thinking, student centered, staff focused Team leader. We are seeking a passionate facilitator who is eager to build collaborative relationships with staff and families in order to best serve our students.
Position Objective:
The person in this role is responsible for providing support to the teachers, parents/guardians, and programs with a specific responsibility and focus on assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special education needs within the school setting. A thriving Special Education Administrator is caring, empathetic, compassionate, and committed to each student's success, while also demonstrating a proficient understanding of compliance with the DESE standards.
Responsibilities:
● Oversee and supervise staff to ensure implementation of federal/state laws and regulations
● Serve as the Team Chairperson for Team evaluation meetings
● Supervise and evaluate Special Education educators and paraprofessionals
● Serve as liaison between the school, community, and outside agencies providing special services to students and their families
● Collaborate with staff, students, and administration to identify and provide supports, interventions and programming to all students
● Facilitate the process and coordination of referrals
● Manage Out-of-District cases in assigned grade level (private and homeschool)
● Identify, develop, and implement professional development training to special education staff
● Oversee, coordinate and supervise the building transitions between grade levels
● Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum Masters Degree in Special Education Administration or related field required
2. MA Special Education Administrator license
3. Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a public school setting at the elementary or secondary level
4. Knowledgeable and proficient with federal/state laws and regulations and the IEP Team meeting process

Salary & Terms of Employment:
Salary to be negotiated. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
