What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative/Accounting Assistant position at Freight Patrol LLC?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative/Accounting Assistant to join our team. We are a small trucking company with 6 semis and 10 trailers. The job will require the candidate to have knowledge of the trucking industry and dispatching semis. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, detail oriented, and experience or education in Accounting. Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), and G-mail is required. - Salary based on experience
- First Shift Position: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Averaging 30-35 hours per week with an hour lunch break. On Call hours are required with this position. Additional hours available to work on Saturday mornings.

Duties:
- Dispatch semis and find return loads utilizing email, DAT board and broker software. Familiar with GPS and mapping.
- Responsible for informing drivers of daily loads, monitoring truck drivers and their loads, coordinating with drivers for pick up and deliveries, and handling the billable paperwork daily.
- Regular communication with brokers and drivers.
- Knowledge of truck driver LOGS and ELDS. Currently using Motive software.
- Conduct data entry for financial transactions by utilizing QuickBooks and Excel.
- Perform accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks daily and monitor profit and loss statements. Familiar with quarterly sales tax. Knowledge of IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) and IRP (International Registration Plan).
- Responsible for preparing payroll and human resources management activities (i.e. posting jobs on Indeed, applications, background checks, employment verification).
- Maintain records for insurance, maintenance, drug testing, Department of Transportation and inspections of equipment.
- Collect and bill out additional services for lawn care, snow plow and asphalt services.
- Prepare estimate for work utilizing QuickBooks and AK Dash Software.
- Marketing services through advertisements on Facebook.
- Training for U-Haul services we provide.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the trucking industry is required.
- Familiar with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), Dept of Transportation, IRP (International Registration Plan) and IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement).
- Minimum of 2 years accounting education or experience (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Statements, Payroll)
- Minimum of 2 years experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and Gmail.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, data entry skills, attention to detail and able to multi-task.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle for work.
