Title: Director of Camp Grounds and Programs
Reports to: COO

Position Summary
The Director of Camp Grounds and Programs must be passionate and motivated to provide exceptional experiences at Christensen Family YMCA Camp and Fremont Family YMCA (FFY). Events, camps, grounds maintenance and improvements, and cross-department collaboration are expected to be managed at a high level of coordination, communication and able to adapt to the changing needs of members and trends in the field. Ensure the preservation and improvement, safe access and program use, and member services of Christensen Family YMCA Camp.
Core and Strategic Functions
High Quality Programs, Services and Facilities
· Conduct and/or oversee all required and assigned upkeep to the site
· Collaborate with staff to facilitate multi-department use of the site
· Develop, implement, conduct, and oversee operations of all seasonal camp programming
· Manage all rental arrangements at the lodge and site
· Recruit, hire, train, and manage all camp staff, as well as collaborate on multi-department staffing requirements
· Develop, implement, and oversee membership driven use of the site (walking trails, equipment rental, etc)
· Provide leadership and vision in the improvement and development of existing and new innovative program development to better meet the needs of members and the community
· Plan the annual department budget; manage and implement the approved budget and take appropriate action to correct variances
Additional Responsibilities
· Responsible for upkeep of the property, including regulatory and safety testing necessary for safe use
· Participate in regular departmental meetings at the main site and camp site
· Report unclean conditions, safety hazards and malfunctioning equipment to Property Manager and follow up on mitigation of the issues reported
· Assist in the promotion and integration with other FFY departments to ensure the productive, effective and efficient operation of the FFY
· Identify and resolve program problem areas to ensure member satisfaction
· Produce operation reports and track actual participants to projected units on a monthly basis
· Work with marketing team to promote programs and oversee internal marketing and communication efforts to maximize enrollments and program participation
· Develop, plan and implement procedures to promote program growth, safety, member satisfaction and member retention through program participation and facility excellence
· Represent and promote the FFY in the community as needed and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, business and governmental entities
· Complete additional duties as required and assigned by supervisor

This position requires flexibility of schedule to include day, night, and weekend availability based on the programs and events at Christensen Family YMCA Camp.
Position Qualifications
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications; Lifeguard certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Education, Preservation, or Management or related field of experience equivalent
- One year management experience in summer camp or overnight camping
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make oral presentations, direct and organize large program meetings
- Ability to analyze statistical and financial data and use standard business mathematics to determine pricing, margins, marketing strategies, etc.
- Knowledge of computer and software applications
- Demonstrated knowledge of lake water management including permitting and testing requirements
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated customer service and public relations skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
