Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through their vehicle service needs and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience. You will leverage your mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to provide accurate information about vehicle maintenance, repairs, and services while promoting upselling opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
- Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and repair recommendations.
- Prepare detailed service estimates and explain the necessary repairs or maintenance to customers.
- Manage service appointments and maintain an organized workflow in the service department.
- Upsell additional services based on vehicle condition and customer needs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by following up on services performed and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, services performed, and parts used.
- Stay updated on automotive technology trends, including diesel engine repair, shocks struts, air brake systems, and general vehicle maintenance.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within a dealership environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical information related to automotive repairs.
- Experience in service writing and communicating effectively with both customers and technicians.
- Familiarity with upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction while increasing service sales.
- A background in working with various types of vehicles, including those requiring specialized knowledge such as diesel engines or air brake systems.
