The role involves creating 3-D models in SolidWorks, generating detailed drawings, bills of materials, and other project documentation. The Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates with sales engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, vendors, and customers to take designs from concept to implementation.

The Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates with sales engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, vendors, and customers to take designs from concept to implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver accurate drawings and bills of material to manufacturing on schedule.
- Provide technical support to Sales Engineers, aiding in equipment sales.
- Offer technical assistance to manufacturing for on-time, budget-conscious delivery.
- Deliver technical support to customer service for troubleshooting field issues.
- Assist end-users with installation and start-up of machinery.
- Refine designs to reduce costs and improve performance.
- Address assembly and field-requested improvements promptly.
- Maintain engineering costs within project budgets.
- Collaborate effectively within a team and independently.
- Compile comprehensive manuals, drawings, and documentation for customers.
- Adhere to ISO 9001 procedures and participate in Q100 quality initiatives.
- Occasional travel to customer and supplier locations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in designing custom machines for large capital projects.
- Familiarity with hydraulic design.
- Experience in ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks design software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including strength of materials, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings, contracts, and correspondence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as geometry, trigonometry, and applied engineering calculations.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions and manage abstract/concrete variables.
