Facilities Maintenance Technician II

Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the general maintenance and up-keep of the facilities.

Schedule is Monday- Friday:

• 3rd Shift – 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM (1 opening)

Essential Functions

• Hands-on general building and facilities (commercial) maintenance
• General carpentry repairs (drywall, painting, plumbing)
• Major/minor drywall repairs & painting, includes preparation to completion
• Minor refrigeration repairs and troubleshooting
• Change lamps, ballasts, switches, and receptacles; basic electrical troubleshooting
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance/repairs, unclog drains, repair leaks, sweating pipes, and replace fixtures
• Grid ceiling repairs and upkeep
• HVAC preventative maintenance and minor HVAC troubleshooting and repair; understanding of compressors (air compressor, water heaters)
• Installation of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer)
• Anchor equipment to ground
• Minor production-related equipment repairs
• Minor hardware, trim, and door repairs
• Office furniture moves, and minor repair
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving
• Escorting contractors working on site
• Performs tasks in a professional and timely manner
• Responsible for maintaining a food safe work environment and in the event it is perceived that it is compromised, action is to be taken which includes stopping the process and notifying the supervisor, assistant supervisor, or lead on duty
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience, and Education

Required:

• 2 years' experience in a advanced facility repairs in a *manufacturing* environment
• Carpentry experience- Drywall repair, painting, and plumbing
• Basic electrical skills - able to use and read a digital multimeter to check for power, safely
• Mechanical aptitude, able to use hand tools and portable power tools (ex. drills, anchor guns, saws-all, porta bands, grinders)
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
• Versed in industrial safety – PPE, OSHA
• High School degree or equivalent is required
• Intermediate computer skills
• Strong written and verbal communicator
• Ability to read, write, speak and understands English

Not required but a plus:

• Power Industrial truck experience including electric pallet Jacks, walkie stackers, scissors lifts and any fork lift experience
• Some food-specific manufacturing industry experience
• Knowledge of Food Manufacturing or GMP’s
• Knowledge and application of Lock Out Tagout principals
• Experience in working with computerized maintenance systems

Work Environment

• Lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds
• Working in heat and cold as required
• Ability to work in a loud environment
• Ability to use ladders, lifts, and platforms
• Ability to work at elevated heights
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work for extended periods of time standing
