Fresco Foods is a producer of high quality prepared foods.
We are seeking a reliable Quality Assurance Manager to ensure compliance, in the designated site, with all relevant Quality and Food Safety Standards following the SQF Code guidelines as well as Regulatory Requirements and Guidelines; all of which encompasses the Food Safety Management System that is built on GMP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and other programs meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
· Maintain and document the Food Safety Management System in the designated site.
· Assist and/or lead the implementation of new policies and/or procedures as determined by Senior Management.
· Leads and manages the site’s SQF and HACCP initiatives as well as on-going continuous improvement efforts including facilitating, organizing, training, and advising.
· Helps to develop and maintain a culture within the site in which food safety and quality production is top priority and a spirit of continuous improvement is fostered.
· Train hourly and supervisory employees – which includes but is not limited to GMP, HACCP, CCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Food Fraud, Specifications, SSOP, EMP, etc.
· Responsible for submitting site change requests on procedures, programs, policies, and forms as needed to update facility, processes, and equipment changes or additions.
· Maintains current knowledge of trends and changes affecting food safety and recommends appropriate program and policy additions and/or changes.
· Assist on investigating customer complaints involving designated site and, if needed, in drafting response.
· Lead and/or assist during site regulatory Inspections, third-party and/or customer Audits with presentation of FSMS and QMS documents and records.
· Lead and/or assist with internal audit activities and ensures corrective actions are completed for the site.
· Assist with new product/customer launches by providing site operations expertise.
· Ensure that root cause analysis is completed, as part of corrective actions activities including during the investigation of customer complaints.
· Assist on conducting site Annual Mock Recalls and Traceability Exercises.
· Collect site samples (environmental, product, water, and others as needed) based on applicable sampling schedules and send samples to authorized laboratory. Share results with Director of Quality Assurance and other authorized personnel.
· Conduct site product inspections to guarantee customer and product specifications are met (weight, presentation, ingredients, etc.).
· Conduct and document site Facility Audit, monthly. Take and document CAPA for all non-conformances.
· Manage site QA Hold Program.
· Manage site Sanitation Program and Staff.
· Manage site third-party Pest Management Company.
· Manage site third-party Chemical Supplier Company.
· Monitor all GMP and Food Safety Programs in designated site. Report deviations.
· Verify activities performed by the Quality Assurance Specialists.
· Verify CCP and CP in the designated site.
· SQF Practitioner Certification required.
· Other activities and tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
· Understanding of FSMS, HACCP, HARPC, GMP, USDA, FDA, FSMA, Food Labeling.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
· Strong auditing and attention to details skills
· Strong project management skills.
· Good knowledge of MS Office and databases.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, or another related field (Required).
· HACCP Certificate (Required)
· PCQI Training (Highly Preferred)
· Seafood HACCP Certificate (Preferred)
· SQF Practitioner Certificate (Preferred)
· At least 3 years of experience in Food Industry or related industry.
· Experience with USDA, FDA.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
