What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Supervisor position at Fresh Express?
1st Shift 6:00am - 3:00pm
The Transportation Supervisor will manage and supervise the safety program by assuring drivers and company equipment maintain regulatory compliance through ongoing training, audits, and inspections. The Transportation Supervisor will keep track of training files to remain in compliance (Driver DOT Driver qualification files, add all equipment DOT/Maintenance files).
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver and/or oversee yearly safety training for all CDL drivers.
- Coordinate all CDL driver onboarding assuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Oversee truck maintenance, to include onsite maintenance team and offsite repairs.
- Monitor the vehicle maintenance program to ensure compliance with the FMCSR and applicable laws.
- Conduct accident/incident investigation, determine the root cause of the issue, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Work alongside the Transportation Manager to conduct ongoing driver training and enforce all government regulations, best practices, and company standards.
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
- Monitor inventory of all oils, lubricants, and Diesel Exhaust Fuel (DEF)
- Maintain proper truck/trailer tire program.
- Conduct recurring audits to ensure all equipment stays in safe, working condition.
- Ensure maintenance shop is a safe and clean work environment.
- Order maintenance parts, equipment and lubricants needed.
- Perform DOT Driver/Equipment Safety Audits.
- Interpret, train, and consistently enforce company policies, protocols and procedures including but not limited to DOT, recordkeeping, OSHA, food safety, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience maintaining Fleet DOT compliance
- Working knowledge of FMCSA Department of Transportation Driver Regulations
- Working knowledge of FMCSA equipment Maintenance/preventative Maintenance regulation
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, strongly preferred
- Bachelor's/ Associate's degree and 2-4 years of transportation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Driving experience preferred, but not required
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
