Job Overview
This position will be responsible for supervising the Qa Techs, and daily requirements. Other duties will include overseeing the quality and safety of all products and processes. Reports to Quality Assurance Manager
Back-Up
Serves as backup for QA Technician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These include (but are not limited to):
Supervise QA techs and daily requirements.
Provide support to Quality assurance manager and other department managers as required
Responsible for maintaining the quality system in the absence of the QA Mgr.
Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, may become actively involved as required to meet schedules and resolve problems.
Responsible for organizing and submitting Qa records as requested/required
Contact vendors/order/maintain inventory of Qa supplies/lab supplies/etc as required
Provide support to the plant and provide hands on leadership and support in the development, implementation, daily operations, and maintenance of the quality assurance program
Have general knowledge of Quality Manufacturing Systems.
Confer with Management team on Quality issues
Confer with QA Mgr. on laboratory projects (supervision of Qa lab tech/ will be by the Qa Mgr.)
Take product samples and deliver to third party laboratory/call for pick up as needed.
Support HACCP and Control Point data collection (supervise Qa techs), to include recording cooler temperatures, pH, ORP/PPM, and chlorine levels etc..
Perform HACCP audits, reports findings to the department quality manager for changes/improvements in overall program.
Perform audits on all documentation (Quality Assurance)
Verify calibration standards and requirements.
Participates in Qa/supervisor meetings and food safety meetings and provides food safety awareness to all departments.
Have general knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a Quality Manufacturing System for the plant
Handle/participate in Food safety/regulatory Audits
Food Safety Trained (HACCP,GFSI) Minimum (or must complete within 30 days) Certified preferred
Serves as backup for QA Technician

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred or equivalent; must have valid drivers license
- Flexible availability: we work night and weekend shifts
- Strong Communication skills
