Tally Clerk aka Tagger (Fruit Packing House)

Looking for to hire Tally Clerk's (Taggers) for our fruit packing house (citrus, stone fruit and pomegranates). The work week will be Monday to Saturday, with variable hours, thought the different fruit season's. Shift starts times vary but normally are between 5am to 8am. This is a year round position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tally Clerk aka Tagger is safety conscious individual that operates a computer and process inventory by printing tags, and tagging of fruit in season using FAMOUS software, scan and label machines. The Tally Clerk communicates with the production team regarding entry of fruit bins and output of fruit cartoons/pallets. The Tally clerk effectively multi tasks. The Tally Clerk assists in other areas in production when needed. The Tally Clerk adheres to Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports any product or bin discrepancies to Inventory Manager.
• Follows and complies with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Assists in other areas of Production when needed.
• Communicates effectively.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and product to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
• Ability to input data into computer software with pristine attention.
• Housekeeping of working area.
• Ability to take ownership of quality of work performed.
• Understand other department and locations to minimize downtime.
• Ability to use computers and radios to communicate regarding product.
• Safety awareness when using or working around forklifts/hand pallet jacks.
• Communicate effectively via email and in person with others regarding Tally.
• Locate and correct data entry errors.
• Store appropriate documentation and record keeping.
• Other job duties as assigned by Inventory Manager or other Managers.

POSITION REQUIREMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Preferably 3 year of experience in food manufacturing environment or packing house.
• Preferable 2 years of Tally (tagging) experience in fruit packing house environment
• Position requires standing, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
• Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment
• Strong communication skills and follows directions.
• Near vison-ability to see details at close range.
• Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
• Ability to push/pull/lift 25 lbs.
• Bilingual preferred but not required
