JOB SUMMARY: The Corporate Controller reports to the company's Chief Executive Officer. Responsible for the accuracy of the company’s accounting records. Responsible for supervision and control of the general operations accounting area, which includes all aspects of daily financial transactions, respective controls, and comparison to expected results. Responsible for interaction with external auditors and tax preparation professionals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities per organization policies and state, federal, and local laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree or CPA certification preferred. Proven experience (5 years) in a senior financial role. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)and regulations. Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effectively present information to customers, employees, and management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current State Driver’s License, required vehicle insurance, acceptable MVR. CPA or MBA preferred.

- Responsible for the GL, AP, AR, and other financial-related modules of the company’s accounting software systems
- Planning and implementing changes in the accounting system including maintenance of the company’s chart of accounts.
- Ensure the systems and processes are being utilized as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Perform operational and financial analyzes within business units and present findings and recommendations
- Provide guidance and direction to internal team for improving operational and financial performance.
- Responsible for organizing, planning, and executing the month-end and year-end closing processes for the financial records of all locations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP
- Oversee the preparation of various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the company’s performance for stakeholders, executives, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare internal reporting package including operating metrics, financial controls and performance indicators that will help in improving business performance.
- Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and safeguard company assets.
- Assist in streamlining business processes to achieve business goals.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to facilitate audits, tax filing, and compliance matters.
- Integral member of the company’s management team in creating, analyzing, and reporting on the annual budget.
- Supports the CEO in analyzing growth opportunities and potential sites for new stores.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
