The Sr. Director of IT is a critical member of the executive team. This is a strategic business leader and IT expert who will have a direct impact on the company. As a member of the executive leadership team, the Sr. Director of IT will share in the strategic planning of the company and is responsible for developing and leading innovative IT strategy that drives towards the goal of automation, elimination, and process efficiencies for our customers and team members.
In this role, the Sr. Director of IT will lead both leaders and individual contributors to deliver against the IT and Business Strategy against many different priorities. The teams consist of overall IT operations, help desk, and associated team members and contractors.
This position reports to the President, Fresh Thyme, and the ideal candidate is an engaged, seasoned IT leader with a strategic mindset, ability to pivot given business demands, and has strong communication, management, project and vendor management skills.
This position reports directly to the President of FTM and acts as a business partner to the President, GVP Merch & Marketing, VP Operations, VP Merchandising, VP Finance, and Department Lead of HR.
Located at the FTM headquarters in Downers Grove, Il, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are remote days. If the Sr. Director of IT needs to be in the business (stores, distribution center, or corporate offices) on Thursday / Friday, the leader will need to adjust on those days. Some travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fosters an inclusive team environment, developing talent in span of care. Ensures resources are engaged to drive business value, agility and innovation. Empowers others in decision-making in an ever-changing technology-environment.
- Creates and leads strategic technology direction for all customer and team member platforms, finding synergies for these populations and the support company.
- Leads planning and implementing enterprise systems to support company's business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations. Oversee all aspects of the IT department operations including IT infrastructure, Communication (LAN, WAN, email, VOIP, etc.), backup, security systems, disaster recovery (DR) and Business Continuity.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the IT Help Desk, including ticketing system.
- Drives the company’s financial objectives, specifically owning assigned budget and resourcing strategies.
- Participates in the formulation of the company business system architecture plans, assessing cost and feasibility of system requests and ensuring the plan supports both strategic and near-term needs. Leads the efforts for the organization, in partnership with our partner company.
- Accountable to overall quality of IT operations; promoting continuous enhancements and improvement of technology and operational controls, processes, best practices, system capabilities, and the delivery of world class service.
- Provides thought leadership to business stakeholders about emerging trends in technology as aligned to organizational objectives.
- Invests in automation capabilities to rapidly respond to customer and provider interaction expectations.
- Builds innovative interfaces to gather data to deliver differentiating services to customers and team members.
- Partners with other leaders and teams to develop a cohesive IT prioritization as well as adopt a path to execute critical strategy constructs. This will include ensuring the business has the right platform to scale a technology driven approach. In addition, the strategy needs to include bringing any existing legacy business footprint into the modern age.
- Map capabilities to strategic priorities leveraging key insights from voices of customer / producer / provider / business.
- Acts as a trusted advisor, building and maintaining relationships with business partners to develop a clear understanding of overall business and technology strategy.
- Negotiate technical contracts, statements of work and service level agreements (SLAs) for hardware, software, maintenance and telecommunication services.
- Manage vendor relationships, performance and service level agreements.
- Define, implement and monitor team and system performance metrics and SLAs.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and communication of system and security documentation, policies, and procedures.

146,673.00 - $245,747.00
This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Specific pay rates will be within this range and based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team of this role.
Compensation for this position also includes incentive bonus opportunities that may vary based on individual and company performance. Specific details will be discussed during the hiring process.
