Essential Functions:
- Oversee the acquisition accounting including but not limited to the opening balance sheet, mapping of general ledger accounts, and implementation of FreshEdge ERP system.
- Oversee accounting functions including but not limited to the procure to pay process and order to cash process such that the transition to the new ownership is seamless for the acquired companies’ leadership. Cash reconciliation to account for the acquired company between the old ownership and FreshEdge is paramount.
- Lead the accounting team of the acquired company including any ledger accountant, accounts receivable, accounts payable team during the transition period.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP and local statutory requirements.
- Leads the study of operational and performance data and identifies opportunities to align business process with information technology.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, including functional and business leaders, to drive performance improvement through the process of excellence.
- Identify opportunities to take advantage of FreshEdge's growing scale.
- Collaborates to allow for significant growth including integrating M&A activity and consolidation activities.
- Leads change management efforts to ensure stabilization and sustainability of new policies, procedures, and systems.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance to gather necessary information and documents to perform annual audit.
- File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 10 years of experience in wholesale distribution, food manufacturing experience preferred or a related field, preferably as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
- 3 - 5 years of leadership responsibilities
- Consulting experience in business transformation and/or M&A preferred.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
