Overview
As the Assistant Parts Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Parts Manager in running a profitable and efficient parts department by utilizing proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staffing efficiencies, pricing strategies, merchandising and marketing.
The ideal candidate has at 3 years of experience as a Parts Counter Person or Assistant Parts Manager, preferably in a dealership. He or she must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong leadership, customer service and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Tekion software and Bilingual is a PLUS!

Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the manufacturer.
- Work with Parts Manager to utilize available pricing parameters and strategies to generate sufficient profit while maintain customer loyalty.
- Ensure inventory is appropriate to meet customer demand while controlling obsolete and excess inventory.
- Ensure full compliance with manufacturer parts and warranty policies, procedures and rules.
- Assist Parts Manager in developing an effective team through training and performance standards.
- Confirm parts are coded for efficiently for refunds on unused factory stock.
- Work with service department and wholesales account representatives to ensure inventory is available when needed.
- Work all counters as needed (Retail, Wholesale and Back Counter).
- Answer incoming parts calls and assist clients.
- Assisting and supervising parts check in.
- Assist with daily stock order.
- Supervising and assisting with regular bin checks.
- Ensuring the parts drivers are equipped and perform their routes timely.
- Calling and assisting with all special orders.
- Review sales figures, costs and stock monthly to ensure budget benchmarks are met.
- Completes sales by entering purchased items into sales/inventory system, obtaining payment, adding purchase to credit account, and issuing sales receipts.
- Takes customer orders and clarifies requests, identifies automotive parts, and offers and explains alternative solutions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading about new products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience as a Parts Counterperson or Assistant Parts Manager (dealership experience preferred).
- LEXUS experience a PLUS!
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
