Position Summary
Fresno Pacific University invites applications for a dynamic leader to head the Department of Nursing, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will be responsible for strategic planning, faculty development, curriculum oversight, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes community engagement. Our programs, which are BRN-approved and CCNE-accredited, include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus.
Essential Functions
Duties :
- Leadership and administration of all aspects of nursing programs
Provides positive leadership, promoting employee competence, morale, and retention
Provides leadership in supporting program directors in both internal assessment and in meeting external accreditation standardsSupports program directors in communicating with the California BRN as necessary regarding program status and changesRepresents the nursing unit at meetings of accreditation and regulatory bodiesDevelops and maintains information supporting annual budget planningProvides oversight of maintenance of records relevant to nursing programsFacilitates professional development for faculty in teaching preparation, nursing theory and practice, and in faith and liberal arts integrationCurriculumFacilitates textbook selection and ordering across programs
Serves as ATI liaisonRecommends purchases of supplies and equipment to support the curriculumSupports the nursing lab manager in ensuring labs meet standards and are maintainedFacultyProvides input on hiring of all nursing faculty

Qualifications :
Doctoral degree which includes course work in nursing, education or administration (doctoral candidates will be considered; completion of a terminal degree is a requisite for continued employment)One (1) year of experience as an administrator with validated performance of administrative responsibilities in a registered nursing education program or the registered nurse administrator of a hospital professional nursing education services programTwo (2) years of experience teaching in pre or post-licensure registered nursing programsOne (1) year of continuous experience, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurseUnrestricted and unencumbered current California Registered Nurse license.Commitment to the Christian faith and the University's mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local churchAbility to acquire a clear (unrestricted and unencumbered) and active California Registered Nurse licenseAbility to promote a collegial environment in work with students, staff, and facultyPreferred :
