What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at FRESNO TRUCK CENTER?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate and manage scheduling, routing, and communication for our team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient operations by monitoring job progress, responding to inquiries, and addressing any issues that arise.
A Day in the Life May Include:
- Receive and process service requests, work orders, or transportation assignments.
- Schedule and dispatch personnel, trucks, or equipment to appropriate locations based on customer needs, priorities, and available resources.
- Maintain real-time communication with field employees to ensure efficiency and address any delays or emergencies.
- Use dispatching software or GPS tracking systems to monitor routes and optimize scheduling.
- Update records and logs with accurate job details, including times, locations, and service updates.
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, or field staff to provide accurate ETAs and resolve any service-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Generate reports on dispatch activities, including response times and service performance metrics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred).
- Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
