Co-op - Manufacturing Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Aid Senior Manufacturing Engineers for electrochemical cell fabrication equipment and processes.
  • Aid Senior Manufacturing Engineers with module and pack assembly process.
  • Participate in technology improvements and represent the plant’s interests in process design and equipment design & function.
  • Assist or create requirements, quality, instruction, and other documentation for areas of assigned responsibilities.
  • Develops manufacturing process by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors to deliver solutions.
  • Be able to communicate and coordinate efficiently and clearly with all stakeholders.
  • Be able to present project results to peers and senior level leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in and working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering and in the 2nd to 4th year of undergrad studies with a GPA above 2.5 of 4.0 scale. Other engineering disciplines to be considered.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD and intermediate skill with SolidWorks or other CAD systems.
  • Entry level understanding of Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of statistical process control and process improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of manufacturing execution control systems and process automation (MES and PLC).
  • Familiarity with machine tool technologies and welding technologies is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communications skills.
  • Strong data gathering, and analysis skills.
