The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. Nexteer Automotive has one opening for this position in the Future Engineer Group. This position is located in Saginaw, MI.
We are looking for an inquisitive, highly self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to detail and time management skills. Special Skill Requirements: Proficient with MS office, computer savvy, and ability to do hands on work
Job Activities:
- Acquire, build, and test prototype parts i.e. electric motors, sensors, controllers, circuit boards and wire harnesses.
- Perform electrical tests involving any combination of electric motors, sensor, controllers, etc.
- Assisting engineers with project duties.
Job Requirements:
- Strong desire to learn new skills.
- Full time student at Saginaw Valley State University or the University of Michigan - Flint
- Ability to work 20 - 28 hours per week during the school year
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA: 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
- Must maintain full time credits (12 credit hours) fall and winter semesters
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs of lab equipment
- Good communication and computer skills
Education:
Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (required)
