ASSISTANT CORPORATE CONTROLLER
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing FM Group financial consolidation and reporting in compliance with the company's reporting requirements and operating procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support the Corporate Controller in the analysis of financial performance, variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Oversee the corporate department close and analysis of budget to actuals by corporate department.
- Oversee that the SBUs and GBUs are performing regular balance sheet reconciliations and following standard accounting rules and IFRS Guidelines.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting. Including preparation of corporate allocations.
- Provide accounting guidance to finance and business leadership. Research accounting treatment and prepare technical memos as needed.
- Reviewing, monitoring and documenting transfer pricing topics.
- Assist in managing the company’s internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Partner with Corporate Controller on building and maintaining internal controls over accounting & financial reporting, and remediation of any deficiencies. Work effectively with cross functional partners to design and implement effective controls.
- Projects focused on standardization and harmonization of processes and reporting.
- Be a change agent in driving efficiencies and helping to achieve our goal of operating as a "best in class" Finance organization.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and systems across the organization.
- Support the Corporate Controller in enhancing and implementing financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Take part in strategic projects, financial reporting system upgrades, and process optimization initiatives.
- Support M&A projects and integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- 8 or more years within Accounting, Finance or Controlling role
- Medical device manufacturing experience preferred
- Technical Skills - Strong technical and academic background in accounting, finance or related field is required
- The successful candidate will have unquestionable integrity and the highest ethical standards
- Demonstrated oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate throughout the organization
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced proficiency in Excel
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic capabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
- Candidate must be detail oriented, have a high level of intellectual curiosity and be an effective problem solver. This includes exemplary time management skills and ability to develop and manage execution of daily activities coupled with reporting requirements, and project management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all hierarchical levels and in a variety of complex circumstances
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, conceptual thinking
- Ability to develop into the Corporate Controller role
