Job Profile Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for the preparation of tool equipment and raw materials for tool operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares tool equipment and raw materials while adhering to safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Sharpens tooling equipment
- Processes raw material for Tool Makers
- Operates the heat treat oven
- Supports lean manufacturing through 5S methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
Experience & Education Requirements
- High School Diploma, Technical Training, or equivalent degree
- High level of commitment and flexibility
- Willingness and ability to work shifts
- Willingness and resilience to meet the physical demands of the position
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and consistently changing environment
Skills:
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Ability to work alternate shifts and overtime as required
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail, requiring minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to multitask/manage many projects in a fast-paced, team environment
- Must be able to read (ID mics, calipers, use go/no go gauges etc.)
- Setup and operate, mill, lathes and tube lathe.
Working Environment
- Majority of work environment is with moderate noise levels, near moving mechanical equipment.
- Secondary work schedule is in production environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements
- Work schedule includes walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Speaking and hearing sufficient for understanding is required
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity for a variety of tasks
- Must use all applicable personal protective equipment
- Visual requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
