Freudenberg Performance Materials Rotational Engineering Development Program is an 18 to 24-month rotational program aimed at developing future technical experts and leaders. Trainees will work on diverse projects across North American sites in Durham, Macon and Asheville and abroad. The program includes a visit or project at our headquarters in Germany. Trainees collaborate with peers from various engineering disciplines and receive mentorship from senior management. The program includes leadership training and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, with rotations every six months, culminating in a return to a designated home base site.
Responsibilities
- This position is not available for sponsorship now or in the future and only available to US Citizens or Green Card Holders.
- Engage in an international technical trainee program designed to become a future technical leader or expert.
- Participate in projects across North American sites in Durham (NC), Asheville (NC), and Macon (GA), with an international rotation including a visit to our headquarters in Weinheim, Germany.
- Collaborate with peers from diverse engineering backgrounds such as mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering.
- Undertake challenging technical projects that are significant for the business, supported by interpersonal skills and leadership training, potentially including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Receive oversight and sponsorship from Executive and Senior Management, who will provide technical and project management support, mentorship, and progress monitoring.
- Commit to an 18 to 24-month program, with rotations typically every six months, allowing you to gain experience at different sites with different technologies while working and rotating together as a cohesive group.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required, Master's Degree is preferred
- Practical Experience: Internship and/or Co-op experience in a globally operating company (general industry/manufacturing).
- Automation and digitalization is preferred along with knowledge of programming languages (PLC or equivalents)
- Travel Readiness: Interest, willingness, and ability to travel as a group of 3 trainees within the US and abroad.
- Personal Attributes: Curiosity, eagerness to explore new ideas and technologies, a can-do attitude, and positive energy.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams and adapt quickly to new challenges and cultures.
- Community and Personal Engagement: Active participation in volunteer work or community projects, artistic endeavors, and sports or fitness activities, demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility and personal well-being.
