What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Friedman & Huey Associates?
- You’ll be responsible for…: Provide tax preparation and reporting services to affluent clients
- Have responsibility for the preparation of estate tax returns (IRS Form 706 and state estate tax returns) along with prep of Final Form 1040, and Form 1041 fiduciary income tax returns if knowledgeable
- Review and prepare fiduciary accounting for trusts and estates
- Review estate planning documents
- Assist with administration of estates and trusts
- Maintain active communication with clients
- Interact with trust administrators, executors, clients, attorneys and financial advisors, and colleagues on matters related to estate tax returns and federal and state fiduciary income taxes
- You need…: Some experience with the estate and trust administration processes from start to finish – we will train on those areas needed
- Experience preparing Estate Tax Returns (IRS Form 706), Gift Tax Returns (Form 709), and Form 1041 Income Tax Returns with knowledge of various elections (e.g., 645 election)
- Knowledge and experience with preparation of Final 1040 for decedents
- Proficient in reading and interpreting trust documents
- CPA, MST, LLM, or JD a plus but not required
- Experience with GO RS tax software a plus (we will train) and/or CCH ProSystem Axcess
- 3 years’ experience required
- Experience with tax reporting for foundations a plus but not required (e.g., IRS Form 5227, Forms 990, 990-PF, and 990-T, etc.)
