Job Summary
We are a busy boutique law office in Reno, NV seeking a dedicated Medical Records and Document Management Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will efficiently and effectively manage the ordering and organization of voluminous client medical records, and is organized and motivated. This is an in-person position.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the opening of new client files, including but not limited to ordering initial medical records/bills and police, incident or accident reports/media
- Work with attorneys and case managers in the ordering, tracking/follow up and organization of client medical records and bills throughout the duration of a case (both pre-litigation and active litigation cases)
- Manage incoming records via paper mail, faxes, provider portals and emailed documents; organize/remove unrelated or duplicate records; save the documents to case management software; notify appropriate staff
- Perform clerical tasks including occasional phone/reception coverage
- Effectively operate electronic legal case management software
Qualifications:
- Legal and/or general clerical experience required
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large document volume required
- Experience with personal injury and/or familiarity with HIPAA Privacy Law are a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, basic Excel) and Adobe Acrobat; ability to learn and operate document management software
- Ability to work independently in a small team environment
