Position Summary
The team leader is responsible for providing an outstanding dining experience for our residents as well as providing assistance in all dining functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Works with Department Management as necessary and implements recommended changes as required.
- Ensures that all dining service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with internal department staff, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service is properly maintained to exceed the needs of the residents.
- Oversees areas where food is served (cafes, club room, dining rooms, kitchens and areas where catering functions are served)
- Reviews and checks all employees’ side work before employees leave for the day
- Maintains and inspects kitchen and service areas for sanitation and cleanliness
- Monitors work schedules for hourly employees
- Trains, motivates and disciplines employees as needed
- May recommend employee discipline to Director, Manager of Dining Services, or Human Resources
- Ensures overall employee safety through the implementation of Cloverwood TFH safety and procedures.
- Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks
- Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff are running out of any item, and informs other servers throughout the meal period.
- Reviews reservations, directs residents and their guests to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks and chefs
- Maintain an excellent dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
- Exceed residents expectations
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management
- Filling in for absent staff as needed
- Assisting with special events
- Performs the following duties in the absence of the Dining Services Manager
- Orders foods/supplies as necessary to meet needs of menus and departments
- Schedule staff as appropriate
- Ensures all necessary paperwork/documentation is on file for staff
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Dining Services Director
- Other duties as necessary

Expectations of the Position
- Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly,” hospitality-oriented, and service-oriented demeanor.

Qualifications of the Position
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge and skills:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
