About Us:
Friends of PACC Community Pet Clinic is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering affordable veterinary care in a compassionate environment. As a part of our surgical team, you will ensure that every procedure is executed efficiently, from pre-surgical prep to post-operative care, while leading a team that ensures smooth and effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize Workflow Efficiency: Lead the surgical team by establishing streamlined processes for surgical prep, procedure execution, and post-operative care to ensure maximum efficiency in every step.
- Staff Management and Training: Supervise and mentor a team of surgical technicians, providing training on best practices for efficient workflows, maintaining a high standard of care.
- Surgical Assistance: Support veterinarians during surgeries by managing anesthesia, preparing the surgical site, and ensuring all equipment is readily available and sterile.
- Pre-Surgical Coordination: Oversee the pre-surgical process, including patient preparation, ensuring all necessary instruments are ready, and managing the surgical schedule to minimize delays.
- Equipment and Supply Management: Monitor surgical equipment and inventory to ensure everything is functional and well-stocked, preventing disruptions in surgery schedules.
- Post-Surgical Monitoring: Ensure a smooth transition from surgery to recovery, monitoring patients effectively and coordinating the team to ensure quick response to any needs.
- Documentation and Records: Maintain detailed and accurate records of surgeries, anesthesia, and recovery, ensuring smooth hand-offs and reducing errors.
- Client Communication: Clearly communicate with pet owners about surgery processes, recovery expectations, and aftercare, while optimizing time to ensure efficient follow-ups.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in veterinary surgery, with at least 1 year of leadership experience focusing on process efficiency.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and improve workflows in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and direct a team
- Deep knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia management
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to streamline communication within the team and with clients
