High-Volume Spay and Neuter Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Medford, OR
Are you an animal care professional passionate about making a difference? Friends of the Animals is seeking a full- or part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team and provide high-quality spay and neuter services for dogs and cats in our community. In addition, you will provide general care for animals in our foster care program.
How You Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon at Friends of the Animals, you’ll perform surgical sterilizations, following our established protocols to ensure safety, efficiency, and accuracy. You’ll conduct thorough pre-operative assessments to ensure animals are ready for surgery. After the procedure, you’ll document any concerns in the medical records for discharge. You will also manage the handling and recording of controlled substances, ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained.

- Our clinic currently offers shifts from Friday through Sunday, with a flexible schedule based on staff availability.
- As we expand our team, we plan to adjust our hours to include Monday through Friday.
- We’re committed to creating a schedule that balances the clinic’s needs with your personal availability.
- Working Hours: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Requirements:
- Oregon DVM license
- Ability to perform surgeries safely and efficiently following our protocols
- Experience with high-volume spays and neuters for cats and dogs is preferred
- On-the-Job Training: Training will be provided to ensure you are comfortable and confident in our procedures.
Compensation:
- Pay: $65.00 - $110.00/hour, depending on surgical experience
- Full-time Benefits: PTO, monthly medical reimbursement, CE and license reimbursement
