What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Reentry Services position at Friends Outside?
The Director of Reentry Services is responsible for the oversight of community-based reentry, rehabilitation services, and leading staff for expansion efforts at Friends Outside. The Director of Reentry Services is responsible for collaborating with other community-based agencies, probation and paroles, jail, and prison staff. Our reentry services are strength-based, family inclusive, and based on the knowledge that change is possible.
Considerable experience at a level to verify proficiency in the following areas:
- Case Management practice with incarcerated, reentering, and at-risk people and others with justice system exposure.
- Executive level management responsibilities of 10 employees, including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation.
- Basic knowledge of employment law and respectful, effective management practices.
- Professional level knowledge of reentry practice and working with justice involved people, including those at risk and their families at both the juvenile and adult level.
- Use of evidence based, trauma informed and culturally appropriate case management practice.
- Previous contract/grant, staffing, program management and budget responsibility with program funding more than $600,000.
- Extensive experience running programs housing the hard to house.
- Experience developing and managing care plans for those on Medi-Cal.
Duties:
- Manage and support programs to assist reentering and incarcerated individuals and their families to make a successful transition to the community, incorporating attention to health and wellness.
- Using supportive management strategies, manage, train, and evaluate direct service staff.
- Maintain a record-keeping and electronic data collection system.
- Develop collaborative relationships with community and government organizations.
- Continuously monitor contract/grant compliance, taking corrective action where appropriate.
- Explore program and funding expansion.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Other Requirements:
- Masters degree in social work preferred.
- Ability to obtain a San Joaquin County Jail security clearance.
- California Driver License.
- Current Automobile Insurance.
- Work weekends and holidays, if necessary, to meet the needs of the program.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism while demonstrating dignity and respect for others.
- Computer literate to the extent necessary to keep records, prepare reports, maintain correspondence, communicate via email, and do internet research for job related projects.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
