Friends School Mullica Hill, a Pre-K to Grade 8 Quaker day school, seeks a Summer Camp Activities Coordinator. This is a seasonal position that is part-time in the winter and spring and full-time during the summer camp season.
Friends School Summer Camp is an eight-week program (June 16-August 8, 2025) with approximately 100 campers each week and a staff of 20.
Responsibilities include:
- Plans and oversees camp activities.(Large and small)
- Manages and maintains camp activity inventory.
- Purchases new activity materials, in conjunction with the Camp Director.
- Identifies all needed activity materials before the start of camp.
- Prepares a week's materials the week before.
- Distributes all activity materials and instructions on the day of the activity.
- Ensures anyone delivering camp activities is prepped and prepared to do so.
- Leads 1-2 activities a day plus any additional activities when needed.
- Multiple Small activities per age group per day. Small activities are completed by small groups of students and include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, camp games, team building exercises.
- Large activities are completed by the entire camp together or multiple groups and include games such as capture the flag.
- Large group activities occur twice a week, at minimum. Thursday morning camp game and Thursday afternoon Pep Rally.
- Providing general support to, and working directly with, the Camp Director
- Planning and implementing program activities
- Overseeing camp activities during the camp season
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Have relevant experience in a school and/or camp setting
- Have a collaborative leadership style and work closely with the administrative team and camp staff
- Be an effective communicator who plans well, takes initiative, follows through with objectives, and effectively manages multiple responsibilities.
- Have a passion for working with children and adolescents and an understanding of developmental needs.
- Have an appreciation for working in a small Quaker school with a diverse population
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology for organizational and communication purposes
- Complete all required background checks and satisfy all safety requirements for working in a school and camp setting
