We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant to join our team. These roles are essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children in our care. The ideal candidates will assist in daily childcare operations, ensuring that children’s needs are met, while supporting caregivers and maintaining compliance with regulations and policies.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising and caring for children to ensure their safety, well-being, and development in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Follow the caregiver/child ratio calculation as required by regulations.
- Support lead caregivers with daily activities, including feeding, playtime, and educational sessions.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for children, including setting up and cleaning up after activities and meals.
- Assist in preparing and serving food, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Document and report any concerns related to children’s health, safety, or well-being.
- Collaborate with other team members to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
- Participate in ongoing staff training and development to meet regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for the Childcare Assistant role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current certification in First Aid and Pediatric CPR (CPR courses must include hands-on instruction; online-only CPR training is not accepted) OR ability to complete CPR training and certification within 90 days of employment.
- Completion of a minimum of 2 hours of training on child abuse and neglect specific to Oregon law within 30 days of employment.
- Current food handler certification approved by the Oregon Health Authority or CCLD before preparing or serving food.
- Completion of CCLD-approved health and safety training within 30 days of employment.
- Completion of CCLD-approved safe sleep training within 30 days of employment.
