ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interact positively and treat each child with dignity and respect. Greet each child enthusiastically and establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care and friendly service. Maintain a positive atmosphere of child behavioral guidance and learning within established state staff/child ratios.
- Recognize and address children’s diverse learning styles, as well as social, cultural, emotional, developmental and educational needs. Sit and participate with children during meal and snack times. Help children with clothing, grooming, health habits and bathroom activities. Communicate observations to the Teacher or Director.
- Assist implementing curriculum and Friendship Academy educational programs according to the guidelines established by Friendship Academy. Help parents to understand the curriculum and signature programs. Work to involve them in the daily programs.
- Utilizes required company resources to communication clearly, concisely, and respectfully with parents both verbally and in writing.
- Adheres to Friendship Academy Safety and Supervision Manual. Assists with ensuring compliance of all licensing and government health and safety standards mandated by OSHA and Friendship Academy. Documents and reports all accidents and incidents to Friendship Academy policy and state regulations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to adhere to Bottle-Feeding Procedures and Friendship Academy Safe Sleep Procedures.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
Education or equivalency:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in an Education or related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Must meet minimum experience required for specific state of employment.
- Prefer prior early childhood education or teaching experience.
Specialized training:
- None.
Certification/licensure:
- Requires necessary state licensed and credentials necessary for the position.
- Prefer Child Development Association (CDA) certification.
- Must have an active Background Check "R" number with the Oregon Central Background Registry
