Education Level : Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Special Education, Therapies, Healthcare, Organizational Leadership, Finance, or a related field. 10 years of experience in nonprofit management, with at least 3 years in an executive leadership role.

Job Summary :

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) oversees the daily leadership, operations, and management of Friendship Community Care, Inc. (FCC). The CEO is responsible for the organization's strategic direction, financial performance, personnel, and communications, ensuring FCC's mission and goals are achieved effectively.

The CEO serves the Board of Directors and staff, facilitating communication, preparing board meeting materials, and ensuring productive governance. The CEO collaborates closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Ethics Officer (CEO) to guide the organization's success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as the chief spokesperson for FCC, representing the organization in public, government, and community settings.
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives, develop annual goals, and monitor progress toward organizational objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of local, state, and national trends affecting FCC and ensure the Board is informed of relevant legislative updates.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Executive Team to establish and oversee financial strategies, annual budgets, and resource management.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, develop, and manage staff to ensure effective program and service delivery.
  • Delegate responsibilities, set clear objectives, and promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained to deliver compassionate, person-centered care.
  • Board & Governance Support

  • Prepare and present updates, performance reports, and policy recommendations to the Board.
  • Facilitate Board meetings by developing agendas and supporting materials.
  • Ensure implementation of Board-approved policies and directives.
  • Operational Oversight

  • Oversee FCC's programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and improve service delivery.
  • Ensure timely communication with stakeholders, including clients, staff, and external organizations.
  • Financial Management

  • Work with the CFO to evaluate financial needs, monitor budgets, and develop corrective actions for deficits.
  • Safeguard FCC's assets through sound fiscal controls and management practices.
  • Community & External Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and professional groups to promote FCC's mission.
  • Actively participate in advocacy efforts, representing FCC's interests on local, state, and national levels.
  • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Special Education, Therapies, Healthcare, Organizational Leadership, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in nonprofit management, with at least 3 years in an executive leadership role.
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial oversight and resource management.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Requires occasional evening or weekend work as job duties demand.
  • Travel throughout the state may be required.
  • Licensing / Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Personal Liability Auto Insurance.
