Who You Are:
We seek a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Certified Medication Technician for our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. Responsibilities:
- Safely prepare and administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician.
- Document the administration of medications on the resident's medication administration record.
- Report any medication errors or reactions immediately to the charge nurse.
- Record and report observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when necessary.
- Accurately measure pulse and blood pressure, recognizing their significance in drug therapy.
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living as assigned, safely and consistently following FV policies and procedures. Document all completed tasks.
- Enhance resident safety by identifying hazards and emergencies, and initiating corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating services provided and any changes in the resident's condition or family interactions promptly. Immediately report noticeable changes in the resident's participation and behavior to the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High School or GED Degree required.
- Active CMT License.
- Registration with the State registry is required.
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- Knowledge of medication administration, duration, and side effects.
- Exhibits well-developed communication skills. Can professionally receive and follow oral instructions in English
