Job Summary
This position is responsible for guiding trail rides as needed as well as assisting grooms and director with prepping for the trail rides each day. This position requires previous horse experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
? Grooming, tacking, helping guests on their horses, giving them good direction for how to ride.
? Guiding trail rides with guests.
? Untacking, grooming, and putting horses out.
? Maintaining a clean tack room and saddling area.
? Cleaning tack.
? Providing hay and water during down/rest times.
? Bathing horses as needed.
? Participate and assist in staff training and development, team building events or other events as necessary.
? All other duties, as assigned.
Skills and qualifications
? Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally.
? Attention to detail and pro-active thought process.
? Great customer service skills including engaging with guests, listening carefully and ensuring a quality product is delivered each time.
? CPR and 1st Aid certified.
? Must have previous horse experience and riding experience and be competent working with and around horses.
? Ability to foresee problems that may arise due to environment or circumstances.
? Critical thinking skills, ability to think quickly and respond to issues and emergencies that may arise.
? Ability to exercise patience when dealing with guests, children, and horses.
Physical Requirements
This position requires complete mobility and the ability to withstand extreme outdoor environments. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
